# How to Edit Your Menu and Make an Item Unavailable on Your Menu (86 an Item)

I would like to update my menu and make some items unavailable.

Hi Rosa\_98!

To mark items as unavailable (or ‘86’ an item) on your menu, follow these steps to ensure the item is removed from customer view:

1. **Log into the OrderOut Dashboard** : Open your web browser, go to [dashboard.orderout.co](https://dashboard.orderout.co), and sign in with your credentials.

1. **Navigate to the Menus Section** : Once logged in, find the ‘Menus’ option on the left-hand menu bar and click on it to access your list of menu items.

1. **Select ‘Edit’** : In the Menus section, look for an option to ‘Edit’ your menu. This will open the detailed menu settings where you can make changes to each item.

1. **Locate the Item You Want to Make Unavailable** : Scroll or use the search feature to find the specific item you wish to mark as unavailable. This is the item you want to ‘86’.

1. **Uncheck ‘In Stock’** : In the item’s availability settings, find the ‘In Stock’ checkbox and uncheck it. This step signals that the item is temporarily unavailable.

1. **Publish the Updated Menu** : Finally, to make sure customers see the updated menu, click on the ‘Publish Menu’ button at the top-right corner. This step is crucial as it pushes the changes live to your menu.

After following these steps, the item will no longer be visible or available for customers to order.

To update your menu prices and add new items to your menu in OrderOut, please follow these steps:

1. **Log in to the OrderOut Dashboard** : Go to [dashboard.orderout.co](https://dashboard.orderout.co/) and sign in with your credentials.

1. **Navigate to the Menus Section** :

- Once logged in, find the sidebar menu and click on **Menus**.
- Locate the menu you want to edit and click on the **Edit** button next to it.

1. **Edit Pricing for an Existing Item** :

- Scroll through your menu items and select the item you want to update.

- In the **Delivery/Pickup** field, enter the new price for that item.

1. **Add a New Item to Your Menu** :

- To add a new item, navigate to the appropriate category within your menu (e.g., “Drinks” or “Entrees”).
- Click on **+ Add New Item** at the bottom of the category list.
- Enter the details for the new item, including the name, description, price, and any modifiers (like size or toppings).

1. **Publish Menu** :

- Finally, click on **Publish Menu** in the top right corner of the screen. This action pushes your changes live to your delivery services so the updated prices and items are reflected on the platform.
