I’m trying to keep my menu up to date and want to make sure customers can customize their orders properly — for example, being able to choose toppings, sides, portion sizes, or add-ons. I’m looking to add new modifier groups and also edit existing modifiers for items I already have in my menu.
Can anyone walk me through how to create or update modifiers in the OrderOut Dashboard?
Hi there — great question! Making updates to your modifiers is super easy in the OrderOut Dashboard, and it only takes a few steps to keep your menu accurate and customizable across all your connected delivery platforms (like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and GrubHub).
Here’s how you can add or update modifiers in your OrderOut menu:
-
Log in to your account at dashboard.orderout.co
-
From the left-hand menu, click on “Menu”
- Select “Edit Menu”
- Navigate to the “Modifier Groups” tab
Here you’ll be able to:
- Create a new modifier group
- Add new modifiers
- Assign modifiers to specific menu items
To edit an existing modifier group:
- Simply click the pencil icon next to the modifier group you want to change
This allows you to edit the group name and update selection rules (e.g., how many modifiers can be selected)
To create a new modifier group:
- Click on “+ New Modifier Group”
-
Enter a name for the group (e.g., “Toppings” or “Choose Your Side”)
-
Add at least one modifier to the group
- For each modifier, you can include a price add-on if needed
-
Set the selection rules (e.g., minimum or maximum number of modifiers a customer can select)
To assign the modifier group to items:
1Click “+ Add to Items” and select the menu items you want the modifier group applied to
Important: Once you’ve made all your changes, don’t forget to click “Publish Menu” to push the updates live to your integrated platforms.
