I want to add a new modifier group to my lunch items. How can I do that?
Hi Cameron_6543!
Adding a new modifier group to your menu items is simple and gives you flexibility in customizing options like toppings, sides, and other selections for customers. Here’s how you can set it up step-by-step on the OrderOut Dashboard:
- Sign into the Dashboard:
- Go to dashboard.orderout.co and sign in using the email associated with your OrderOut subscription.
- Navigate to Menus:
- Once you’re logged in, locate and click on the “Menus” option on the left-hand menu panel. This will take you to the menu management section.
- Editing Menu Items:
- Within the “Menus” section, find the specific item category and item you want to add the modifier group to. This could be under lunch items in your case. Click on the category and the item name to open its editing options.
- Adding a Modifier Group:
- Once you’ve selected the item, look for the “Modifiers” section.
- Click on the “+ Add Modifier Group” button.
- You will see two options: “Add New Modifier Group” or “Select Existing Modifier Group.” Since you’re creating a new one, choose “Add New Modifier Group.”
- Setting Up the Modifier Group:
- Modifier Group Name: Enter a name for your new modifier group. For example, if this group is for sauce options, you could name it “Sauces.”
- Modifier Name: Under the “Modifier Name” field, enter each choice the customer can select (e.g., “Ketchup,” “Mustard,” etc.). Each modifier option can be given a specific price if you wish to charge extra for certain choices.
- Customer Selection: Here, you can set rules for how customers interact with this modifier:
- Choose if a selection is required by toggling “Yes” or “No.”
- Set the limit on choices—either “Only One” for single selection, “No Limit” for multiple selections, or specify a minimum and maximum number of choices if you want to control the quantity customers can pick.
- Saving the Modifier Group:
- Once you’ve added all necessary modifiers and set the selection criteria, click “Save” to finalize your new modifier group.
- Applying the Modifier Group to Additional Items:
- To apply this newly created modifier group to other menu items, simply go back to each item, navigate to “Modifiers,” and select “Choose Existing Modifier Group.” Then, choose the group you just created.
- Publishing the Menu:
- After making all your edits, don’t forget to click “Publish Menu” in the top-right corner of the dashboard. This ensures all changes go live on your platform, so customers can see the new options immediately.
That’s it! You’ve successfully created and applied a new modifier group to your menu items. This allows customers more customization with their orders, enhancing their experience.
