How to Make an Item Unavailable on Your Menu (86 an Item)

I would like to make some items unavailable on my menu.

Hi Rosa_98!

To mark items as unavailable (or ‘86’ an item) on your menu, follow these steps to ensure the item is removed from customer view:

  1. Log into the OrderOut Dashboard: Open your web browser, go to dashboard.orderout.co, and sign in with your credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Menus Section: Once logged in, find the ‘Menus’ option on the left-hand menu bar and click on it to access your list of menu items.
  3. Select ‘Edit’: In the Menus section, look for an option to ‘Edit’ your menu. This will open the detailed menu settings where you can make changes to each item.
  4. Locate the Item You Want to Make Unavailable: Scroll or use the search feature to find the specific item you wish to mark as unavailable. This is the item you want to ‘86’.
  5. Uncheck ‘In Stock’: In the item’s availability settings, find the ‘In Stock’ checkbox and uncheck it. This step signals that the item is temporarily unavailable.
  6. Click ‘Save Changes’: After updating the availability status, select ‘Save Changes’ to apply your update.
  7. Publish the Updated Menu: Finally, to make sure customers see the updated menu, click on the ‘Publish Menu’ button at the top-right corner. This step is crucial as it pushes the changes live to your menu.

After following these steps, the item will no longer be visible or available for customers to order.
