How Do I Remove Special Instructions From My Grubhub Account

I need help removing special instructions that are automatically appearing on my GrubHub orders. Customers sometimes add notes that no longer apply, and I’d like to update or delete them so they stop showing up. What are the steps to remove or edit special instructions on a GrubHub account?

If you need to remove special instructions from your GrubHub account, the update must be completed directly by GrubHub. At this time, GrubHub requires that any saved or automatically applied special instructions be edited or removed by your GrubHub Account Manager. Please reach out to your account manager and request that they remove the special instructions currently attached to your store. They will be able to make that update on your behalf.

If You Haven’t Connected GrubHub to OrderOut Yet

Before your account manager can assist with menu-related settings, make sure your GrubHub account is properly connected to OrderOut. You can connect GrubHub by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your OrderOut Dashboard:
    :backhand_index_pointing_right: https://dashboard.orderout.co
  2. Go to the Integrations page.
  3. Click Connect next to GrubHub.
  4. Paste your GrubHub store URL into the field provided. To find it:
  • Search for your store directly on GrubHub.
  • Select your store from the results.
  • Copy the URL shown in your browser’s address bar.
  • Paste that URL into the OrderOut Dashboard to finalize the connection.

Important Grubhub Integration Details

  • Once connected, your GrubHub integration with OrderOut will officially go live the following Tuesday.
This is part of GrubHub’s standard onboarding protocol.
  • Before Tuesday, you will continue receiving orders the same way you always have — nothing changes yet.
  • After the integration goes live, if you use a GrubHub tablet and it remains powered on and active, OrderOut will not receive your orders.
➜ To ensure proper integration, make sure the GrubHub tablet is powered off or not actively receiving orders once you officially go live.

Editing Your Grubhub Menu After You’re Live

Once your store is fully integrated with OrderOut, all GrubHub menu changes must be made inside the OrderOut Dashboard — not in GrubHub.

To edit your menu:

  1. Log into your OrderOut Dashboard: https://dashboard.orderout.co
  2. Click on the Menu page on the left-hand side.
  3. Select Edit Menu to make changes.
  4. After making updates, don’t forget to press Publish to push your menu live.
