What do the red triangle warnings mean in the OrderOut Dashboard?

Why am I seeing red triangle warning icons in the OrderOut dashboard when trying to publish my menu? What does the error message “Not have enough Enabled options to fulfill Max Permitted setting.” mean, and how can I fix this to publish my restaurant menu successfully?

If you’re a restaurant using OrderOut to connect third-party delivery platforms like UberEats, DoorDash, or GrubHub to your POS system, and you see red triangle warning icons in your OrderOut Dashboard, and you’re receiving the error:

“Not have enough Enabled options to fulfill Max Permitted setting.”

— this indicates a menu configuration issue related to modifier groups. This is a common reason menus fail to publish to integrated delivery platforms.

How to Access Modifier Groups in OrderOut:

  1. Log in to your OrderOut Dashboard
  2. Click “Edit Menu” from the left-hand navigation
  3. Click into your menu
  4. Navigate to the “Modifier Groups” tab
  5. Look for any groups with a red triangle error icon

Reason 1: Empty Modifier Group – “No Modifiers” Error

If you see this message where the modifiers typically are:

“No Modifiers for [Modifier Group Name]”

This means your modifier group is empty, and there are no add-on modifiers for customers to choose from — like sides, toppings, or customizations.

Problem:

An empty modifier group will prevent your entire menu from publishing to delivery apps like UberEats or DoorDash.

Solution:

You have two ways to fix this issue:

  • Delete the modifier group entirely if it’s not needed
  • Add one or more modifiers to the group (e.g., “Add Cheese”, “No Onions”, “Mild/Medium/Spicy”)

Remember: Every modifier group needs at least one modifier for your menu to publish successfully.

Reason 2: Max Permitted Setting Error – Modifier Rules Mismatch

If you see the error when you hover over the red triangle next to the modifier group name:

“Not have enough Enabled options to fulfill Max Permitted setting.”

— this means the minimum or maximum choice settings in your modifier group are not compatible with the number of modifiers you’ve added.

Problem:

For example, if the Max Permitted is set to 3, but there are only 2 modifiers, your modifier rules are invalid. This will block your menu from being published to connected delivery platforms.

Solution:

  1. Click the pencil next to “+ Add to Items”
  2. Adjust the Min and Max values so they reflect the actual number of modifiers

Rules to follow:

  • Max Permitted must be equal to or less than the number of modifiers
  • Min Permitted must be between 0 and the total number of modifiers

Example: If you have 2 modifiers, your Max should be 2 or less, and your Min should be 0, 1, or 2.

:white_check_mark: Final Steps to Ensure Menu Success

:check_mark: Make sure each modifier group has at least one modifier
:check_mark: Verify that Min/Max settings match the number of modifier options
:check_mark: Use the OrderOut Dashboard to test and preview your changes
:check_mark: After correcting, your menu will publish to all integrated platforms, including UberEats, DoorDash, GrubHub, and more
